The Los Angeles Angels are allegedly considering dealing one of their outfielders. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reports that the Angels “seem to be on the verge of trading an outfielder.” Although Feinsand did not name any specific players, he did remark that Taylor Ward has sparked tremendous interest, and it “wouldn’t be surprising” if he were the one dealt. Ward has been considered a trade candidate throughout the offseason. Earlier this winter, the Kansas City Royals reportedly expressed interest in acquiring him.
The 30-year-old outfielder is under team control for two more years before becoming a free agent in 2027. Ward’s hitting line this season was.246/.323/.426 with 25 home runs and 75 RBIs, both career highs. He also shown his durability, appearing in a career-high 156 games. While Ward is frequently mentioned as the likely outfielder to be traded, there are other options. The Angels may potentially trade previous top prospects Jo Adell and Mickey Moniak.
Adell, 25, had a career-high 130 games last season, hitting.207/.280/.402 with 20 home runs and 62 RBIs. He was also a finalist for the Golden Glove Award. Moniak, 26, played a career-high 124 games, batting.219/.266/.380 with 14 home runs and 49 RBI.
