Despite the short turnaround period, Notre Dame football sent two NFL prospects straight from the CFP Championship game to Arlington, Texas, for the 100th annual East-West Shrine Bowl.
Tight end Mitchell Evans and defensive back Jordan Clark arrived over the weekend for four days of practices, interviews, and measurements in front of NFL scouts, coaches, and personnel.
However, neither Evans nor Clark will play in the Shine Bowl on Thursday night. According to Eric Galko, director of football operations for the Shrine Bowl, both players left on Tuesday afternoon with event organizers’ agreement.
How did Mitchell Evans and Jordan Clark measure up?
Evans’ official measurements at the Shrine Bowl were 6-foot-5 ¼ and 256 pounds. This was a quarter inch higher than his reported height at Notre Dame and four pounds lighter. Evans had a hand size of 9 ¼ inches, an arm length of 32 inches, and a wingspan of 7-foot-7 1/8. Clark, an Arizona State graduate transfer who averaged 41 defensive snaps in 16 games for the Irish, stood 5-9 1/8 and weighed 180 pounds. That was nearly a full inch shorter than his official height of 5-10 at Notre Dame, and he weighed two pounds less.
Clark’s hand size is 8 7/8, his arm length 29 1/8 and his wingspan 7-1 1/8.
