Dillon Gabriel, the Oregon Ducks quarterback, has signed an exclusive name, image, and likeness (NIL) agreement with Great Clips. The company just signed a multi-year agreement to be the official hair salon of the College Football Playoff. Gabriel, along with Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard and Miami kicker Andres Borregales, will promote the initiative on social media. Jesse Palmer, a college football figure, and Natalie Rose, a sports influencer, will both appear in advertisements for the brand during bowl season.
Gabriel has previously struck NIL partnerships with Shop GLD, Celsius, VICIS, Ajinomoto Foods Europe, EA Sports, Brands Unlimited, and Crimson and Cream. According to On3, his NIL value is estimated to be $2.1 million, placing him 13th among college athletes. Gabriel has thrown 3,558 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions with a 73.2 completion %. He also carried for 192 yards and seven touchdowns in his senior season, guiding the Ducks to a Big Ten Conference championship and a No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.
I’m just smiling because we won the Big Ten championship. I am smiling because we took advantage of an opportunity. We could have done it at Eugene Country Club, on a 100-yard field, if necessary, but we appreciate the game.”Oregon’s quarterback Dillon Gabriel
Coach Dan Lanning has been Gabriel’s staunchest supporter during his unbeaten 13-0 season with this program. Following the 45-37 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions, Lanning praised his quarterback.
“[Dillon] deserves everything that comes his way…” If someone can’t see that performance and realize how unique he is. This team believes in him. They are grateful for the opportunity to play with him every day. He values connection and people first. However, the poise he displays in important games is immeasurable. I have not been around players like Dillon. I’m very thankful that I get to share the field with him.”Oregon coach, Dan Lanning
Gabriel will attend the Heisman Trophy announcement in New York City on Saturday, along with Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter, Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty, and Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward. Hunter is the clear favorite to take the top honor at -2000. Jeanty is at +800, Gabriel is at +3500, and Ward is the long shot at +50000. Oregon awaits the winner of the quarterfinal showdown between the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers and the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes on December 21 at 5 p.m. PT in Columbus. The winner will play the Ducks in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on January 1 at 2 p.m. PT.
