Seth McLaughlin will not play for the Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff. However, the center is still receiving praise for his remarkable performance this season.
Billy Price (2017), Pat Elflein (2016), and LeCharles Bentley (2001) are the only Buckeyes to have won the award. This year’s winner will be announced on Thursday.
McLaughlin was named first-team All-Big Ten this season after allowing no sacks in 207 pass blocking snaps. He just allowed four total pressures.
However, his season came to an end early. McLaughlin tore his Achilles tendon during practice prior to Ohio State’s game against Indiana on November 23. McLaughlin spent his first and only season with the Buckeyes. He transferred to OSU during the offseason after a stellar four-year career at Alabama.
